Grants provide support for instructors meeting with undergraduate students at informal social events in out-of-class settings. The grants are intended to enhance and support Illinois State’s core value of providing individualized attention. Grants are funded by the Illinois State University Parent Association Advisory Board (PAAB) with contributions from alumni and parents of current students. The Center for Teaching, Learning & Technology administers the program. Amounts are up to $150 per fiscal year.
Tenured, tenure-line, and non-tenure track faculty; faculty associates; AP staff with teaching responsibilities; and graduate teaching assistants are eligible to apply. All applicants should have regular contact with undergraduates as part of their teaching assignments.
For each event, an instructor can be reimbursed at the rate of $3 per student or the total cost involved in providing refreshments or other related items for the event (excluding tax); whichever is less, up to $150. Number of grants and amounts of individual grants are subject to availability of funds.
Application form can be found here. Instructors should submit a complete application prior to the event.
There is no deadline for grant applications. Applications can be submitted at any time before event commences and will be evaluated when received. Funds are available upon grant acceptance.
