New Faculty Orientation

New Faculty Orientation (NFO) will be Monday, August 10 in the Old Main Room at the Bone Student Center from 8:00 am–3:45 pm. Join us for a day-long introduction to Illinois State University’s vision, values, culture, history, students, programs, resources, and more. It’s an excellent opportunity to meet other new faculty and identify some of the people and services that can make your first year at ISU a smooth one.

Other Ways to Prepare for the Fall Semester

  • ATTEND CTLT’s Summer Institute for the 21st Century Educator
Just because you haven’t started teaching yet doesn’t mean you’re not eligible to join other ISU educators at CTLT’s Summer Institute.  We offer literally hundreds of hours of programming between mid-May and mid-August, each of them designed to help support high-quality teaching at our University.
  • View some or all of CTLT’s eMentor modules.
Starting July 1, online modules will be available to help answer some of the most pressing questions raised by new faculty.  These modules were developed by experienced ISU faculty members on topics identified by focus groups of first-year faculty.
  • Attend Faculty Prep Week
Faculty Prep Week offers three types of assistance, instructional and technical consultation hours, Blackboard mini-workshops and New Faculty Technology Orientation.
