ISUTEACH is an asynchronous internet discussion (technically, a "listserv") about teaching at ISU. Anyone interested in learning and sharing about teaching – including GAs and NTTs – can subscribe and anyone can post questions, concerns, and ideas. Other may respond and offer assistance. It is also used for announcements such as teaching workshops and funding opportunities.
All subscribers receive all messages posted to the list in their email inbox and all postings go to everyone on the list. It is an unmoderated list, which means no one screens or censors messages. There is no cost to subscribe.
Message flow is fairly light. We ask subscribers to follow listserv etiquette, including keeping postings brief, refraining from posting personal messages, and making the content of the message clear in the subject line and first couple of lines of the message. This makes it easy for subscribers to skim messages and delete those that do not interest them.
Subscribing to ISUTEACH is EASY. Simply send an e-mail message to listserv@ilstu.edu. Leave the subject line empty and either turn off your automatic signature or put two dashes (i.e., - - ) just in front of your automatic signature. The body of the message should read:
SUBSCRIBE ISUTEACH Your Real Name
You can also subscribe by going to http://listserv.ilstu.edu/lists/ and clicking on the SUBSCRIBE icon next to ISUTEACH.
After you have subscribed, simply address your message to isuteach@ilstu.edu or reply to a message sent from the list. When replying to messages on the list, please continue to observe listserv etiquette and remember that, unless you take care to change information on the "TO" line, your reply will be posted to the entire list. Please be sensitive to your colleagues' time constraints and keep list postings pertinent, thoughtful, and substantive.
The ISU listserv permits several subscription options. After you have subscribed, you may send one or more of the following commands to listserv@ilstu.edu or go to: listserv.ilstu.edu
